Lifemobile at Wrigley Field!
Email from a Lifemobile reader: “I enjoyed the book so much, I actually finished reading it in Chicago at a Cubs VS Detroit Tigers baseball game. How about that!! Thanks again.”
This is the first confirmed report of someone reading Lifemobile in the Friendly Confines of Wrigley Field. Or, for that matter, during any major league baseball game.
What a wonderful true life story! I was a bit teary eyed several times but the tears flowed at the end. A great bond developed through the purchase of a great little automobile. My book came yesterday and I could not put it down. Great job Jon!
Thanks so much, I’m thrilled you enjoyed it and grateful for your note.
Wow!! Made it to MLB!! And I thought only Dodger fans did other things to amuse themselves during a ballgame. trust me – the book is in a whole other league from the Cubs. Not meant as a back-handed compliment – but the Cubs? Maybe you can get the guy to finish the book at Comiskey Park. At least the Chisox know how to play. If I can afford to get a ticket – I will tote along LIFEMOBILE to my next Yankee game – so that you can say you were in the House That Ruth Built – and the City of NYC Rebuilt.
See if you can arrange for the Yankees to hold “Lifemobile Day” — a copy to the first 25,000 to enter the stadium. J.B. can throw out the first pitch and relievers will ride from the bullpen to the mound in a Corvair.
Not a bad idea actually. It’s Jeter’s birthday next Tuesday – I’ll float it to him when I send his card.
Jeter’s birthday gift — a membership in AARP.
Guy’s getting “old” in athletic terms – but he ain’t nowhere near AARP age. Yet. Neither is ARod – although he’s starting to hit like he’s already retired.
